As soloists, chamber musicians, and collaborative artists, they have appeared throughout the United States, Europe, and Central Asia, earning recognition for performances that combine intellectual depth with emotional authenticity. Diana's artistry has been praised for its “virtuosity, inner concentration, and control” (The Culture of Uzbekistan), while The Miami Herald described her playing as “eminently logical and profoundly expressive, with an exceptional understanding of sonority, direction, and the heart of the music.” Sergei has likewise been recognized for performances distinguished by technical refinement, expressive depth, and thoughtful musical interpretation.
Together, Skobin Duo explores the rich and diverse repertoire for piano four hands and two pianos, presenting programs that range from the Classical and Romantic masterworks to contemporary compositions and rarely performed works. Their performances are characterized by extraordinary precision, artistic imagination, and an intuitive musical partnership that reflects both their personal and artistic bond.
Both artists graduated summa cum laude from the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan, where they earned bachelor's and master's degrees in Piano Performance and Pedagogy. They later continued their studies in the United States, with Diana earning a Master of Music degree from the Lynn Conservatory of Music and currently pursuing postgraduate studies at the Manhattan School of Music under Wael Farouk. She is the recipient of the prestigious Solomon Mikowsky Full Scholarship Award and the Solomon Mikowsky Piano Pedagogy Award. Sergei likewise continued his advanced musical training in the United States, further developing his career as an internationally active performer.
